What does it take for a demonstrator, marching through central London, to hold a placard declaring that a regime that maims and blinds young women for the ‘crime’ of wanting to choose how they dress is on the right side of history?
Thank you for this, Dave. It's felt like an exhausting few days for us Jews. Again.
Sadly, a piece of real value, nuance and rational thinking such as this may fall on deaf ears (or more likely, crossed-eyes) who stand on such questionable and shaky moral high-ground that they'd rather crash and burn than take on a more truthful perspective.
“He who owns the past owns the future.” — George Orwell. If you have bought out the educational system, you can ensure a lying narrative is taught and eliminate all dissent at the root. Seize minds when they’re young and you have them for life.
It's a crazy world where "don't bomb Iran" becomes "support for the Iranian govt", or "don't bomb Gaza" becomes "support for Hamas". Or indeed "bombing Gaza" is just "attacking Hamas", or bombing Iran is just "attacking the Ayatollahs".
People can't seem to hold two truths at once. And, I don't think any of these protesters are following Iranians or liberal Palestinians - how the left can march for a regime that hangs and beheads people for showing their hair or making a joke is so beyond me that I think it's just mass brainwashing these days - maybe people have turned into bots.
The ME functions merely as a playground for the psychological issues that plague a certain set of westerners. In this environment, people and countries are reduced to archetypes, mere representations of reality.
"Some ideas are so stupid, only intellectuals believe them.” George Orwell
I am told that the exact quote, from Orwell's 1945 "Notes on Nationalism" is:
"One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that; no ordinary man could be such a fool. “
That's much better, thanks!
Excellent as always and many congratulations on your award!
Thank you!

Demented, minds fked by social media, twisted logic, whatever. Simply bizarre!
