The new, updated paperback edition of my latest book - Everyday Hate: How Antisemitism Is Built Into Our World And How You Can Change It - is published today. It has a new Preface and two new chapters, around 20k new words in total, covering October 7 and all the antisemitism that followed.
To mark this, my publisher is offering a 20% discount to my Substack subscribers. Simply go to the Biteback Publishing website and enter the discount code EHPB20 when you order the paperback.
Everyday Hate tells the story of why antisemitism is so enduring and, at times, popular, and why this should matter to everyone, whether they are Jewish or not. It is hopefully written in a way that is readable and accessible for people who know nothing about antisemitism - at least, that was my aim. It isn’t a history book but there’s lots of history in it, and also lots of examples from the present day. It has an entire chapter exploring why some people seem so obsessed with Israel and Palestine in a way that overshadows everything else in the world, which was in the original edition and I think has stood up well to what we have seen since October 7.
For a taster of the new material, the Jewish Chronicle has published some extracts here. And for an overview of the book’s main argument, I’ve written an op ed in today’s Guardian which you can read here.
